About the Role
As a Financial & Business Strategy Consultant, you will assess our current operations, revenue model, and mission to determine the most effective business structure. Your expertise in nonprofit and for-profit business models will be key in helping us develop a financially sustainable and impactful organization.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate the pros and cons of a for-profit vs. nonprofit business structure for The Nile.
Conduct a financial feasibility analysis for each model, outlining sustainability strategies.
Advise on legal and tax implications, compliance requirements, and funding opportunities for both structures.
Identify grant, investment, and revenue-generating opportunities based on the chosen model.
Provide recommendations for operational efficiency, governance, and long-term growth.
Collaborate with our leadership team to define a clear financial strategy moving forward.
What We’re Looking For:
✔️ Expertise in business structuring (nonprofit vs. for-profit)
✔️ Strong background in financial consulting, business strategy, or nonprofit development
✔️ Knowledge of grant funding, investment strategies, and business sustainability models
✔️ Ability to simplify complex financial concepts and present actionable insights
✔️ Understanding of economic development, social impact funding, and Black business ecosystems is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree or certification in Finance, Business Strategy, Nonprofit Management, or a related field
Experience working with startups, small businesses, or mission-driven organizations
Previous experience advising social enterprises or minority-led businesses
Familiarity with U.S. tax laws and corporate structures
